The BayCare Sound Arena
We turned a 19-acre park into a flexible arena with portable food and beverage carts. These expandable solutions blend seamlessly with the Clearwater landscape, ensuring quick access to refreshments and enhancing the event experience.
The BayCare Sound arena is an outdoor concert venue in downtown Clearwater, Florida featuring covered seating for 4,000 with room for 5,000 more on their lawn. In 2023, the city transformed the 19-acre public space connecting St. Petersburg’s Pier and Tampa’s Riverwalk, with views over Clearwater Harbor.
Blending Day to Night Function
We worked together with Ruth Eckerd Hall, who runs the Coachman Park venue, to accommodate the unique needs of an outdoor venue this size. The venue is a park by day and an arena by night, which means that all of their food and beverage installations need to be portable and blend into the scenery of the public space when not in use. Additionally, there are special security needs in a space that’s open to the public.
Seamless Design for Versatile Service
Meeting the needs of the venue and the requirements of the city took some creative designing, resulting in food and beverage carts that open up and expand out during service, then close completely and lock in off hours. Ruth Eckerd Hall opted to place multiple carts throughout the space–some in the concessions plaza near the entrance, several at the top of the lawn, and a couple directly behind the pavilion–to avoid long lines and bottlenecks, ensuring that guests could quickly get what they need, wherever they’re enjoying the show.
We were able to complete the project in about 3 months, working closely with Ruth Eckerd Hall and the city to ensure permitting and installation went smoothly.
